Holy Mary, Mother of God Faith Community of Hampton Roads, VA
Although God Himself is the source, summit and end of devotion, the observance of
devotional practices among Filipinos seem more magnified on the Blessed Virgin Mother.
They trust Mary will bring them closer to Jesus and to eventual union with the Father.
The Holy Mary, Mother of God Faith Community of Hampton Roads, Virginia, came into
being in 2010 to continue the same reflective practices honoring Santa Maria, Madre
de Dios. By using the generic name of Mary, the group declares its inclusiveness,
inviting others to a common celebration.
The Faith Community honors Mary with a Pilgrims’ Cruise on board the magnificent
tourist vessel, Victory Rover, plying the Norfolk Harbor and viewing along the way
America’s mighty Fleet. Other annual activities include Eucharistic Celebrations
and a Birthday Bash for Mary on a date close to September 8.
